Swimming is good for the heart, but when age and other health issues come into play then it's a different story. Heart attack could trigger drowning which sometimes lifeguards don't seem to notice because victims would tend to go passive then submerge into the water.

Aside from the complex plot of the movie Syriana which turned movie goers into accidental researchers and also sparked a bit of controversy, what troubled me, along with other parents, is the swimming pool accident that killed Bryan Wood's (Matt Damon) son (ooops!... spoiler, sorry).

Update: Toddler Dies After Swimming Pool Accident
A sad news from The Palm Beach Post headlined Sunday evening about a toddler who accidentally fell into the pool. The boy was taken to Palms West Hospital in Loxahatchee, said Capt. Don DeLucia, spokesman with Palm Beach County Fire Rescue. He was listed in critical condition at 2 hours after the accident but was reported that he passed away Monday morning.

Diving Accidents Fast Facts
Aside from drowning, another serious accident that can happen in a swimming pool is diving. Although the common outcome of diving accidents are head, neck and back injuries, there are cases of diving accidents where the victim go unconscious, submerge in the water and drown.
